    Hans Hedemann was a professional surfer for 17 years on the ASP, who built the surf school to teach people the passion to surf as he does. He recently competed in the 2011 Surf Masters in Brazil.

About Hans Hedemann

Hans Hedemann was born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands. A local boy, Hedemann, had a natural talent for surfing, and was born a waterman. After completing high school, he immediately joined the ASP World tours (Association for Surfing Professionals).

Hedemann, while competing on the tour, was a Hawaii representative for the World Tour. As a Hawaii Representative, he had visited 30 schools a year to promote ocean safety and preservation. Hedemann has been sponsored by Hawaiian Island Creations.

As a professional surfer, he has won many distinguished competitions. Hedemann has placed first in: The Billabong Pro (Australia), Gunston 500 (South Africa), and was the first to win back-to-back ASP World Events.

In 1997, the Hans Hedemann Surf School launched. It is now the premiere surfing school in Hawaii. A team of Lifeguard and CPR trained instructors and safety guides dedicate to an enriched Hawaiian Surfing experience to provide a great adventure for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfer.

Hans Hedemann Surf School opened it's shop at Waikiki Park Shore hotel in 2004 to service all Waikiki Hotels.  From there we offer lessons and rentals conveniently accross the street from the Honolulu Zoo and the Beach.
